2025 Spark Cycleworks Javelin: The Modular Moped

Ladies and gentlemen, welcome back! Today I am at Spark Cycleworks checking out the huge updates to their flagship moped, the Javelin. This isn’t just a fresh coat of paint; we are talking about a complete overhaul with thousands of hours of engineering behind it. From a beefier swingarm to a more powerful controller, the new Gen 2 Javelin is built to be a true road warrior.

What makes this bike special is the modularity. You can grab the Standard Javelin to save money and get riding quickly, the Javelin X for a fully custom factory build, or even a DIY kit if you want to swap in your own parts. Performance & Speed Tests

The new Standard Javelin has received a serious power bump. It now rocks an ND72450 controller and a 120A BMS, pushing a motor that is rated for 5,000W nominal and peaks around 10,000W. While I didn’t grab the Draggy for this specific shop tour, the acceleration is significantly punchier than the previous generation. Ride Quality & Features

The ride quality on the Javelin is “like butter.” The combination of the new, stiffer swingarm (which is 50% larger!) and the standardized chrome rear shocks makes the bike feel incredibly planted. It eats up potholes and road imperfections that would rattle a standard ebike to pieces.

One of the biggest wins here is the legal compliance. It comes with a VIN plate and MCO, so you can register it as a moped or even a motorcycle if you want to ride legally without hassle. Plus, they’ve finally added locking seat storage and passenger foot pegs as standard features.
