Ghost Cat F4X Review: The Updated Beast Mode

Ladies and gentlemen, welcome back! Today I am testing the Ghost Cat F4X, but not just any F4X—this one has the updated “Beast Mode” controller programming. I thought the original was already impressive, but this update takes it to an entirely new level, adding even more torque and top-end speed.

This 60V ebike feels like a total animal. It sports a 25Ah battery for excellent range, a 55A controller, and a high-power geared hub motor with steel reinforced gears. It’s light, nimble, and arguably one of the highest power-to-weight ratio ebikes I have ever tested.

Performance & Speed Tests

I started with the 0-20 mph test using a Draggy for accuracy. With the new controller tune, I hit 0-20 in just 3.57 seconds, which is insanely fast for a single-motor bike. You can check the Leaderboards to see how it dominates the competition.

The torque is equally impressive on hills. On my steep hill climb test, it held 19 mph, which I believe is the fastest time I’ve ever recorded for a single-motor 60V ebike. And for Top Speed? I hit 44 mph on flat ground—both ways. That is remarkably fast for a geared hub motor system.

Ride Quality & Features

The suspension is hands down one of the best features of this bike. It comes with fully adjustable KK suspension front and rear, which offers tons of travel and soaks up bumps like they aren’t even there. Whether on the street or hitting the “sidewalk of doom,” the ride is incredibly plush.

The braking is just as serious, with massive 203mm rotors and quad-piston calipers that stop the bike on a dime. I stopped within just over one parking spot from 20 mph, which is top-tier performance.
